Journeying to Mars:
It's just physics!

The world has celebrated NASA's successful Mars landings with Spirit and Opportunity. Dr. Greg Davis, member of JPL's Mars Exploration Rover (MER) entry, descent, and landing (EDL) team and University of Akron alumnus, will provide an overview of MER's mission and describe the critical events leading up to landing. he will also show the latest computer simulations - derived from reconstruction analyses of MER EDL telemetry - of both Spirit's and Oppportunity's landings. A general question and answer period will follow.
