Within the framework of nonlinear deformation theory an approach
describing plastic deformations kinematics of continuous media is
suggested. It is based on tensorial separation of elastic from plastic
deformations:
We study dynamics and thermodynamics of plastic continuous medium,
derive evolution equations including phenomena of mass and heat
transport, viscous friction, elastic and plastic deformations. We
introduce a metrological parameter for describing plasticity of
continuous media. Applications of the theory to numerical simulation of
plastic deformations on the nanoscale are discussed.
