Tensor Theory and Plastic Deformations on Nanoscales

Within the framework of nonlinear deformation theory an approach describing plastic deformations kinematics of continuous media is suggested. It is based on tensorial separation of elastic from plastic deformations:
tensor

We study dynamics and thermodynamics of plastic continuous medium, derive evolution equations including phenomena of mass and heat transport, viscous friction, elastic and plastic deformations. We introduce a metrological parameter for describing plasticity of continuous media. Applications of the theory to numerical simulation of plastic deformations on the nanoscale are discussed.
